Sheffield Steel: Matt Sheffield's Wargaming Blog

Miniatures, Painting Projects, Battle Reports, Tactica and Ranting…….

Welcome to Sheffield Steel!

First of all this isn’t a site about metalworking, or the city of Sheffield. My name is Sheffield however, and in a broad way this blog is genuinely about Steel: namely the tanks, men and big guns of the Astra Militarum (formerly Imperial Guard).

Specifically this is a blog about the 9th Cadian, my current and with any luck biggest and most impressive Imperial Guard Project. The astute among you will notice that this site and it’s tentative initial content is from 2013, so it’s been a while, but I’m motivated to continue.

This site is then is the ‘home’ of my Astra Militarum Army, containing images of the models in my collection, as well as musings on their progress as they battle their way across the 40k universe. I enjoy most aspects of the Warhammer Hobby and so from time to time I’ll probably have a moan or go off on a rant about something Games Workshop have or haven’t done every now and again.

It is my intention to put some battle reports on here as well, some attempts at custom rules and tactics, and maybe even some video links. For now at least simplicity is best and we’ll see how it goes.
